By booking a medical you are giving consent for me to access your CAA medical record.

Under CAA rules all AMEs are expected to be audited every 3 years. This process involves inspection by the CAA and observation of a medical. Thus, very occasionally, an observer may be present during the medical process.

EASA Drug/Alcohol Screening - all initial Class 1/2/3 EASA applicants and 1:10 renewal/revalidation applicants are expected to undertake drug and alcohol screening at the time of their medical.

Please see the policies regarding chaperone provision and giving feedback.

About Dr Mark McKenzie

UK Class 1, 2, 3 ATCO, LAPL, Cabin Crew & FISO medicals at great rates in a comfortable environment.

I qualified at Manchester University in 1996. I completed my GP training in the North West and was a GP in Cheshire for 16 years. I now work full-time as an AME but continue to offer a support service to other GPs.

I gained my PPL(A) flying a PA-28 under the fantastic tuition of Miguel Santana at Flintshire Flying School. Great school and great airfield (Hawarden) - highly recommended! I hope to expand my flying experience by undertaking the PPL(H).

Following successful completion of the Advanced Aviation Medicine course I am approved by the CAA to conduct UK Class 1 renewal and revalidation medicals. I also provide ATCO Class 3 medicals. I am working towards the Diploma in Aviation Medicine - watch this space.

As of November 2020 I have been granted the privilege of performing FAA medicals.

I am an approved Aviation Medical Examiner of the Maltese Civil Aviation Directorate.

I am a member of the NW AME Group and of the national AAME. My colleagues and I meet regularly to discuss the latest CAA guidelines and generally support each other with our informal network.

I donate 1% of my income to various charities every year (RNLI, Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, GMRC).
